Hi can you please send me a copy of your
/usr/local/squid/etc/squid.conf.
I tried to add the following:
# Add this to the auth_param section
auth_param basic program /usr/local/squid/libexec/ncsa_auth /usr/local/squid/etc/squid_passwd
# Add this to the bottom of the ACL section
acl ncsa_users proxy_auth REQUIRED
# Add this at the top of the http_access section
http_access allow ncsa_users
but could only find the last section ‘http_access’
I can not find the ‘ACL’ section or ‘auth_param’ section
Also, when this is complete, in Snow Leopard System Preferences/Network/Advanced/Proxy do i check WEB PROXY and enter IP of computer running the proxy but what PORT? 80, 8080, 443? also do i enter user name/password the same as I used in the setup of the squid?
thanks
Not sure on which article you are commenting, but the Squid installation instruction is for an older version (2.7), so I wouldn’t be surprised if things have changed since the post was written. I have lost access to the OS X box that I was using at the time, so I won’t be able to send you the copy of the config file. Sorry for not being of much help!!
